How to Play

Play Forest Brothers game online for free. Forest Brothers is a 2-player cooperative platform shooter game for kids. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Wait for the loading screen to reach 100% then select the play button.
On the main screen, click or tap the play arrow button below the Forest Brothers title.
Clicking it will lead you to the “TAP TO PLAY” screen. Selecting the screen will start the game
- The timer will start once the “TAP TO PLAY” phrase disappears.
- Once the time starts, your 2 squirrels will can be harmed by incoming bunnies and other enemy animals. Make sure to steer clear of enemies.
- You have precisely 5 minutes and 30 seconds to finish the game, or you lose.
- Main Menu Screen User Interface
  - On the main menu screen, there are a several game options available:
  - The 1st icon on the bottom left corner is the full screen toggle button. It looks like an arrow pointing up.
    - Click it to set your game to full screen mode.
    - Click it again or press “ESC” on your keyboard to go back to normal screen mode.
    - The 2nd icon on the bottom left corner is the instruction button. It looks like a circle with an “i.”
      - Clicking it leads to a screen with instructions on how to play the game.
      - There are 2 available buttons at the bottom of this screen.
        The button on the left corner with the hamburger icon is the main menu button. Clicking it will re-direct you back to the main menu.
        The button on the right corner with the play icon is the game start button. Clicking it will re-direct you to start the game.
        The Best Score is posted on the middle bottom part of the screen. Your game’s progress is saved on your local web browser. It records your highest score every time you play.
        Collect as many coins as you can and reach the golden nut to beat to best score.
        On the top left corner is a door arrow button. This does not function.
        Main Menu Audio Options
        The 1st button on the the bottom right corner with the note icon is the music button. Select it to toggle the in-game music “on” or “off.”
        The 2nd button on the the bottom right corner with the megaphone icon is the sound button. Select it toggle the in-game sound effects “on” or “off.
        Game Controls
        Mouse and Keyboard
        The game uses W, A, S, D for the green squirrel (on the left of the screen) and directional arrow buttons for the red squirrel (on the right of the screen).
        Press S for the green squirrel to shoot projectiles or throw exploding nuts.
        Press the down arrow key for the red squirrel to shoot projectiles or throw exploding nuts.
        Another way to move the squirrels and use weapons is to click on the up, left, right arrow buttons and projectile button on the screen using your mouse cursor.
        Use the green buttons on the bottom left side of screen to control the green squirrel.
        Use the red buttons on the bottom right side of the to control the red squirrel.
        Clicking on the target icon will shoot projectiles from your desired weapon.
        On the bottom part of the screen are the weapon icons. Each player gets one on opposite sides at the bottom of the screen. Click it to select and change your weapon. The default weapon is the exploding nut. You can change your weapon into the following:
        Click once to change into a gun
        Click twice to change into a bazooka.
        Clicking a third time will change it back to the exploding nut.
        On the middle bottom of the screen is the life bar. It shows how much life your green and red squirrels still have.
        Touchscreen
        Tap the directional buttons on the screen to move the squirrels to the desired location.
        Use the directional buttons on the left side to control the green squirrel.
        Use the directional buttons on the right side to control the red squirrel.
        Tapping on the target icon per player will shoot projectiles from your desired weapon.
        On the bottom part of the screen are the weapon icons. Each player gets one on opposite sides at the bottom of the screen. Click it to select and change your weapon.
        The default weapon is the exploding nut. You can change your weapon into the following:
        Click once to change into a gun.
        Click twice to change into a bazooka.
        Clicking a third time will change it back to the exploding nut.

        On the middle bottom of the screen is the life bar. It shows how much life your green and red squirrel still have.
        Use controls that you are most comfortable with. The keyboard allows for more reactive controls, especially if you’re used to this. Whereas touchscreen controls are ideal if you have a large screen like a tablet. This makes it more comfortable for two players to control the game.
        User Interface and Other In-Game Options
        The timer is available on the top left corner of the screen. It’s game over when the timer reaches zero, even if one of your players don’t die.
        The score is displayed on the middle part of the screen.
        Defeat enemies to earn more points. Points depend on how many enemies you defeat along the way.
        The number of coins you collect is displayed on the right side of the screen beside the score counter. Besides points, collect as much coins as you can. The number of coins you gather is shown when you finish the entire game.
        The menu button is displayed on the top right corner of the screen.
        Click it to pause the game. It also show several game options and sound setting adjustment.
        Timer will show on top of the pop up menu. The timer will not stop even when the game is paused.
        Sound bar is on top of the menu screen. Drag it to adjust the volume level of the in-game sound.
        The 2 buttons on the middle are the sound and music button.
        Click the sound button to toggle the in-game sound “on” or “off.”
        Click the music button will toggle the in-game music “on” or “off.”
        The Music bar on the menu screen is located between the sound and music button. Drag it to adjust the volume level of the in-game music.
        There are 4 game buttons at the bottom of the screen:
        1st button is the full screen toggle button. Click it to set your view on full screen.
        2nd button with the hamburger icon is the level select button. This redirects you to the level select screen.
        3rd button with the refresh icon. This restarts your current game.
        4th button with the play icon is the pause button. Select it to pause and unpause your game.
        Game Over Screen Display
        Once you’ve lost, you will be re-directed to the Game Over Screen.
        The game will display your Last Score and the Best Score.
        The 3 middle buttons will do the following:
        1st button on the left with the “F” icon will share the game with your score on Facebook.
        2nd button on the middle is the refresh icon. Select it to play the game again.
        3rd button on the right with the bird icon will share the game with your score on Twitter.
        You will also have the option to do the following:
        1st button on the bottom corner side is the full screen toggle button.
        2nd button on the bottom left corner with the hamburger icon is the level select button. Clicking it will redirect you to the level select screen.
        1st button on the bottom right corner with the reset icon is the refresh button.
        2nd button on the bottom right corner with the play icon is the pause button. Clicking it will pause and unpause your game.
        Strategy
        This is a challenging 2 player coop platform game where you control 2 squirrels simultaneously and fight your way through the forest to obtain the golden nut.
        Collect as many coins as possible and defeat as many enemy thugs as you can for better high score.
        Complete the game within the time provided or it’s game over.
        Play with a friend and finish the game together. The game is generally harder to do solo.
        Controls are meant for 2 players. It’s hard to control a lot of buttons for a single player.
        But if you want to take the challenge, the most ideal way to control two characters is through keyboard controls. This
        On keyboard, you can move and jump while shooting or blasting at the same time.
        Be Careful with Exploding Nuts
        Be mindful of throwing exploding nuts. This can harm you and your ally.
        Make sure to throw exploding nuts away from you or your partner. Move far enough so the blast does not damage both of you.
        Shooting your gun or bazooka will not harm your ally. Only the exploding nuts can incur damage on you and your partner.
        Dodge enemy bunnies and rival squirrels and racoons with exploding nut projectiles.
        Change your weapon depending on the situation. Some enemies may be on top of a platform or canopy. You can switch to a gun or bazooka to better shoot enemies. The gun and bazooka also incurs greater damage per shot than one exploding nut.
        Collect med kits that you can find along the way as you play the game. This will help restore some of your health damage to keep one of your characters from dying.
        Pausing the Game
        While the game is continuous until you find the golden but, you can always pause it.
        Just select the pause button on the top right corner of the game screen. Then play again once you’re ready.
        The game ends when one of the squirrels life falls to zero or if you run out of time. Make use of your time efficiently and avoid getting damage from your enemies.
        If you’ve finished the game, you can always play it again. For an added challenge, try to beat you best score.
        Have fun playing this game with a friend. It’s much more exciting to defeat enemies and beat the time limit with a good friend.
