How to Play

Play Smurfs Music game online for free. Smurfs Music is a virtual orchestra music making game for kids with piano, trumpet, harp, and drums. This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

  • Starting the Game
    • Once the game loads, it automatically shows a screen demo of how to drag and drop instrument tracks into the virtual music player.
    • To end the demo, select the “X” button on the top right corner of the screen. you may also select the “Skip tutorial” button at the bottom of the screen.
    • Ending the demo directly takes you to the virtual orchestra music composition game.
      • For beginners, we recommend selecting “More details” under the tutorial demo screen.
      • “More details” provides complete instructions on how to use game controls and arrange music.
      • It will start with fundamental instructions. Then it will ask if you want more information.
      • Select the green “v” if you want to view more information, or select “x” to go straight to the game.
      • An arrow will appear from the numbered track pointing to the piano bar with square shapes. This arrow fades after a few seconds.
        • Every time you start, the default instrument is always the piano. This is the top instrument icon highlighted in purple.
          • You can begin arranging your music by selecting pre-recorded tracks at the bottom and dragging them into a square shape in the piano bar.
          • To listen to the instrument track, simply click or tap the number. You can listen to each track anytime.
          • When you’re done arranging the piano music (or whatever instrument you selected), you can select other instruments to arrange.
            • On the bottom right corner of the screen is a “?” button. Select this if you want to see “More details” about how to play the game.
            • Once you select the “?” button, it will pull up the demo screen again. To see more information, simply press the “More details” button under the demo screen.
            • To return to the main game screen, simply press the “Skip tutorial” button.
            • You can change an instrument icon into a different instrument by selecting it again.
              • For example, I want to change the piano into a different instrument. If I select it again, it turns into a trumpet. If I select it twice, becomes a harp.
              • Selecting the piano icon a third time turns into into the drums icon.
              • If you select a 4th time, it will mute the game’s music.
              • You also have the option to have two pianos, two trumpets, two harps, or two drum sets, depending on the type of arrangement you want.
              • Icon Color and Shapes for Each Instrument
                • The 4 instrument icons can be found at the left side of the game screen:
                • Piano – Turns purple when selected. Instrument track shape: square.
                • Trumpet -Turns pink when selected. Instrument track shape: triangle.
                • Harp – Turns orange when selected. Instrument track shape: circle.
                • Drums – Turns green when selected. Instrument track shape: hexagon.
                • In-Game Interface
                  • On top of the screen are 4 Smurfs playing an instrument. You’ll see these Smurfs move once you play your music.
                  • On top middle of the scree are three sound buttons. Select these buttons when you want to play or stop your song.
                    • The 1st button is a loop button. This is a round icon with two arrows going in a clockwise direction. Select this to keep playing your music again and again.
                    • The 2nd button is a play arrow button. Select this to play your music. The play button also turns into a pause button (two vertical lines) when music is playing.
                    • The 3rd button is the stop button. When you select this, it will stop the music. The music line will also start from the beginning of the track.
                    • Below the play and stop buttons are the instrument bars:
                      • The 1st instrument bar is the piano. Tracks for this bar all come in squares.
                      • The 2nd instrument bar is the trumpet. Tracks for this bar all come in triangles.
                      • The 3rd instrument bar is the harp. Tracks for this bar all come in circles.
                      • The 4th and final instrument bar is the drums. Tracks for this bar all come in hexagons.
                      • Below the instrument bars are the instrument tracks. These are numbered From 1 to 7 with different colors.
                      • Instrument tracks also come in note icons of different colors. Make sure to listen to each to distinguish their sounds.
                      • On the lower right side is a white screen that shows the notes of your selected instrument track.
                      • On the bottom right corner of the screen is the “?” button. Selecting this shows information on how to play the game.
                      • On the left side of the screen, below the instrument bars, are several blue buttons:
                        • The 1st icon is the Eraser button. Select this to remove an instrument track from the bar.
                        • The 2nd icon on the right side of eraser button is a Note or audio button. Select this if you need to mute the game’s sounds.
                        • The 3rd icon below is the save button. Select this to save your music arrangement on your web browser.
                          • When you select Save, click on a number where you want to save your arrangement.
                          • Next time you come back, you can load your save arrangement by pressing the number where you saved it.
                          • The 4th icon is the Load button. Press this is you want to access previously save music arrangements from your browser.
                            • Selecting a number with a saved arrangement automatically loads that composition.
                            • The 5th icon is the Clear button. Selecting Clear will ask you if you want to clear everything.
                              • If you select “X,” your current music arrangement will stay on the page.
                              • If you select the green “v” icon, it will clear all the instrument bars.
                              • Game Controls
                                • Touchscreen
                                  • Using your finger, left tap on a track number or note to listen to the pre-recorded instrument track.
                                  • Once you’ve decided on an instrument track, tap on that icon and drag it into the instrument bar.
                                  • The instrument track will occupy the empty square. Keep dragging tracks until you’re satisfied with your music.
                                    • To remove an instrument track from the bar, simply tap on the eraser icon.
                                    • This is located at the left side of the screen below the instrument bar.
                                    • Once you tap the eraser icon, tap the instrument track you want to delete. This will automatically remove it.
                                    • Alternatively, you can directly replace an instrument track with a different one even if you do not tap the erase button.
                                    • Just drag a different instrument track on the old track. The new track will instantly play.
                                    • If you want to listen to your composition, tap on the blue play button on top of the screen.
                                    • If you want to pause the music, simply press the pause button on top. This is a circle with two vertical lines. The music line will stop exactly where you want it.
                                    • If you want to stop playing the music, and for the entire track to start from the beginning, press the stop button on the right side of the pause button.
                                    • The stop button is a round icon with a blue square in the middle.
                                      • If you want to play your music on loop, select the loop button on the left side of the play button.
                                      • The look button is a round icon with two arrows in a square clockwise position.
                                      • Selecting loop will keep your music playing again and again until your stop it.
